Hong Kong

tram, or taxi, you can get around
Taxis
Urban
taxis are red, while the New Territories ones are green and those on Lantau
Island are blue. Flag fall is HK $16, $13.50 and $12 respectively for the first
2 kilometers thereafter. Additional charges of $1.40, $1.20 and $1.20 respectively apply for every 0.2 kilometers thereafter. There are extra charges for tunnel and bridge tolls, driver's return toll and luggage handling. Always ask for a receipt. Tjos can help you track down lost items or the taxi driver. By law, passengers are required to use seatbelts privided in Hong Kong taxis.

MTR
Getting around Hong Kong and visiting the city's fantastic attractions couldn't be easier with the quick and efficient MTR
rail system that covers all major districts in the teritory, and includes stops at the boundary with Mainland China (Lo Wu and Lok Ma Chau). The MTR consist of ten lines: Island, Tsuen wan, Kwun Tong, Tseung Kwan O, Tung Chung, West Rail, East Rail, Ma On Shan and Disneyland Resort, as well as an Airport Express. In addition, the MTR operates a Light Rail system running between Yuen Long and Tuen Mun in the New Territories, plus an inter-city train sevice into Mainland China.
Ferries
Several fleets of ferries ply the wates of Hong Kong Island. Kowloon and the Outlying Island. Star Ferry is Hong Kong's most scenic and an inexpensive mode of travel across Victoria Harbour. Ferries travel between Kowloon and Hong Kong Island from piers in Tsim Sha Tsui and Hung Hon in Kowloon and Central and Wan chai on the island
Peak Tram
Operating since 1888, the cable-pulled tram travels between central and the Peak, one of the city's most scenic transport routes. It runs daily between 7am and midnight. Adult fares: single trip HK$22; round trip HK$33
Buses
Single and double-decker buses cover almost all of Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories. Kowloon Motor Bus, New World First Bus and Citybus operate routes to cober Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories. Meanwhile, New Lantao Bus mainly operates on Lantau Island and Long Win Bus provide bus services to north Lantau and the airport.
Trams
Trams operate six overlapping routes along what was the northern shore of Hong Kong Island between Shau Kei Wan and Kennedy Town and around Happy Valley. Fares are HK$2 for adults.
